Remedy And Ailment

Many a remedy brings about an ailment. رُبَّ دَواء جَلَبَ داءً۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Many an ailment turns into a remedy. رُبَّ داء اِنْقَلَبَ دَواءً۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Sometimes the remedy is [itself] an ailment. رُبَّما كانَ الدَّواءُ داءً۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Sometimes the ailment is [itself] a cure. رُبَّما كانَ الدّاءُ شِفاءً۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One whose ailments are many, his cure will not be known. مَنْ كَثُرَتْ أدْواؤُهُ لَمْ يُعْرَفْ شِفاؤُهُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم One who does not bear the bitterness of the remedy, his pain persists. مَنْ لَمْ يَحْتَمِلْ مَرارَةَ الدَّواءِ دامَ ألَمُهُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم There is no remedy for the one who is fond of his ailment. لا دَواءَ لِمَشْغُوف (لِمشعوف) بِدائِهِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم There is no cure for the one who hides his ailment from his doctor. لاشِفاءَ لِمَن كَتَمَ طَبيبَهُ داءَهُ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم I am amazed at the one who knows the remedy of his ailment yet does not seek it, and if he finds it... عَجِبْتُ لِمَنْ عَرَفَ دَواءَ دائِهِ فَلا يَطْلُبُهُ وإنْ وَجَدَهُ لَمْ يَتَداوَ بِهِ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم For every living thing there is an ailment. لِكُلِّ حَيّ داءٌ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم For every sickness there is a remedy. لِكُلِّ عِلَّة دَواءٌ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم Walk with your ailment as long as you can. إمْشِ بِدائِكَ (بِدَأبِكَ) ما مَشى بِكَ۔ —Ghurar al-Hikam —غُرَرُ الحِکَم و دُرَرُ الکَلِم
