اَلاِحْتِمالُ بُرْهانُ الْعَقْلِ، وعُنْوانُ الفَضْلِ۔

By bearing the burden of provision (for the people), praises increase.
بِتَحَمُّلِ المُؤَنِ تَكْثُرُ المَحامِدُ۔

The forbearing one is recognized by his increased tolerance.

مَنْ كَثُرَ حَمْلُهُ نَبُلَ۔

مَنْ لَمْ يَحْتَمِلْ مَؤُنَةَ النّاسِ فَقَدْ أهَّلَ قُدْرَتَهُ لاِنْتِقالِها۔

It is part of honour to tolerate the wrongdoings of [one’s] brothers.
مِنَ الْكَرَمِ اِحْتِمالُ جِناياتِ الإخْوانِ۔

اِحْتَمِلْ ما يَمُرُّ عَلَيْكَ، فَإنَّ الاِحْتِمالَ سَتْرُ الْعُيُوبِ، وإنَّ الْعاقِلَ نِصْفُهُ اِحْتِمالٌ، ونِصْفُهُ تَغافُلٌ۔
