Hadith #7008

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,

Intelligence is closeness, foolishness is estrangement.

This beautiful Hadith highlights the significance of intellect and its impact on our relationship with Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ). Let us delve into the deeper meanings of the words used in this Hadith and explore its implications in light of the Quran.

Are those who know equal to those who do not know?

Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and dumb who do not use reason.

And it is not for a soul to believe except by permission of Allah, and He will place defilement upon those who will not use reason.

This verse emphasizes that those who reject reason and fail to utilize their intellect will be deprived of true faith and guidance.
