مَنْ اُعْطِيَ التَّوبَةَ لَمْ يُحْرَمِ القَبُولَ۔
One who is granted repentance will not be deprived of its acceptance.

(Ghurar al-Hikam: Repentance And Returning (To Allah))
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.
The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states,
مَنْ اُعْطِيَ التَّوبَةَ لَمْ يُحْرَمِ القَبُولَ۔
This can be translated as,
One who is granted repentance will not be deprived of its acceptance.
This amazing Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) highlights the mercy and forgiveness of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) towards His repentant servants.
Let us delve into the deeper meaning of this Hadith in light of the Quran. The word (repentance) "تَوْبَةَ" comes from the root word "تَابَ" which means to turn back, to return, or to repent. It signifies a sincere and genuine return to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) after committing sins or transgressions. Repentance is an essential aspect of our faith, as it allows us to seek forgiveness and rectify our relationship with our Creator.
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) emphasizes the importance of repentance in numerous verses of the Quran. In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah says, (Quran 24:31)
And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.
This verse encourages all Muslims to turn to Allah in repentance, regardless of their past actions. It assures us that sincere repentance is the path to success and salvation.
Furthermore, in Surah Az-Zumar, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) states, (Quran 39:53)
Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'
This verse serves as a reminder that Allah's mercy is vast and encompasses all sins. It gives hope to those who have committed wrongs, assuring them that sincere repentance will be accepted by Allah.
Imam Ali's (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) Hadith further emphasizes the acceptance of repentance by stating,
One who is granted repentance will not be deprived of its acceptance.
This means that if a person sincerely repents and seeks forgiveness from Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ), their repentance will not be rejected. Allah, in His infinite mercy, accepts the repentance of His servants and forgives their sins.
This Hadith serves as a source of comfort and motivation for Muslims. It reminds us that no matter how grave our sins may be, we should never lose hope in the mercy of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ). As long as we sincerely repent and strive to rectify our actions, Allah's acceptance is guaranteed. This Hadith also highlights the importance of seeking repentance and turning back to Allah, as it is a means of attaining His forgiveness and mercy.
The consequences of neglecting repentance can be severe. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) warns in the Quran, (Quran 49:11)
And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.
This verse serves as a reminder that failing to seek repentance and persisting in sinful behavior leads to wrongdoing and transgression. It is essential for Muslims to constantly evaluate their actions, seek forgiveness, and strive for self-improvement.
Reflecting on Imam Ali's (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) Hadith, we are reminded of the boundless mercy and forgiveness of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ). It encourages us to turn to Allah in repentance, no matter how far we may have strayed. It instills hope in our hearts, assuring us that sincere repentance will be accepted by our Lord. Let us seize this opportunity to seek forgiveness, rectify our actions, and strive for a closer relationship with Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ). May Allah grant us the ability to repent sincerely and accept our repentance.
