Hadith #7360

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. Peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states, "العِلْمُ أفْضَلُ قِنْيَة۔" This translates to

Knowledge is the best acquisition.

Let us delve into the essence of this Hadith in light of the Quran.

The word (knowledge) "عِلْمُ" refers to the understanding and awareness of facts, information, and principles. It encompasses both religious and worldly knowledge. Knowledge is a powerful tool that empowers individuals to make informed decisions, seek the truth, and navigate through the complexities of life. It is a means of attaining success and prosperity in this world and the Hereafter.

Are those who know equal to those who do not know?

In Surah Al-Baqarah (2:269), Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) states,
