Hadith #1389

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his pure progeny, and his noble companions.

The Arabic Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) states, "بِالتَّأنّي تَسْهَلُ الأسْبابُ۔" This can be translated as,

Through deliberateness, means become easy.

This enlightening Hadith of Imam Ali (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) highlights the importance of taking one's time and being deliberate in our actions and decision-making processes.

The word (ta'anni) "تَأَنِّي" in the Hadith refers to deliberateness or taking one's time. It implies a thoughtful and careful approach to our actions, rather than rushing or acting impulsively. By being deliberate, we can ensure that we consider all aspects and consequences of our decisions, leading to better outcomes and ease in achieving our goals.

This concept of deliberateness can be found in the Quran as well. In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says, (Quran 2:153)

O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.

This verse emphasizes the importance of patience and taking one's time in seeking help from Allah. By being patient and deliberate in our prayers and actions, we can find ease and assistance from Allah.

Another verse that supports the idea of deliberateness is found in Surah Al-A'raf, where Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) says, (Quran 3:159)

And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him].

This verse encourages us to make decisions after careful consideration and then put our trust in Allah. By being deliberate in our decisions and relying on Allah's guidance, we can find ease and success in our endeavors.

Imam Ali's (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) statement holds great wisdom and practical implications for our daily lives. When we rush into things without proper thought and deliberation, we may encounter difficulties and obstacles along the way. By taking the time to listen attentively, think before speaking, and consider the feelings and perspectives of others, we can foster healthier relationships and avoid misunderstandings or hurtful actions. This deliberateness in our communication can lead to smoother interactions and a more harmonious society.
